    Vanderslice proves why Cellar Door sounds great

    It was once said that the greatest phonoaesthetic combination in the English language is Cellar Door. In the album "Cellar Door" by John Vanderslice, he captures the beauty of phonoaesthetics with his somewhat surrealist and absurdist lyrics. The song "Pale Horse" appears to sing about the eve of the End of the World and captures it in a way that is raw and angry. The song "Heated Pool and Bar" depicts the cold, unfeeling life of soldiers. Another interesting exploratory song is "When It Hits My Blood," which shows us the reaction to heroin from the view of the addict and thoroughly demonstrates how different one becomes under the influence. Overall, the album has a feel and sound that is a mix of "Time Travel is Lonely" and "The Life ...
