Educated, attractive and from a solidly middle-class English background, Jackie Pullinger had always felt the call to missionary work and, wanting to take a positive step, she decided to travel to Hong Kong to see what opportunities might be there for her. She discovered the notorious Walled City : rife with crime, sheltering the network of Triad gangs, and practically a no-go area for police. Jackie began befriending drug addicts, traffickers, prostitutes and pimps - the kind of people that most people from Jackie's cultured background would have written off. Slowly, the message of God's transforming love began to get through and Jackie went on to build a thriving church within the Walled City.
