I purchased 2 Carver M-1.0t faceplates on the recommendation of Greg on the Carversite and I am very pleased with the purchase. The new faceplates are excellent copies of the originals and I don't think you could tell them apart. Easy to work with him and he is willing to help with what parts he can. Carver ct seven tuner preamp
This is an old vintage stereo equipment. Carver's quality is very mixed, either it has problems, problems or it works great and flawlessly. So buying Carver used is generally a good value, but has to checked out carefully. There is only on authorized repair place for Carver in Washington State, where Bob Carver has a business servicing Phase Linear, Carver and Sunfire products; all designed by Bob Carver himself. Buy Carver only if you are a fan of holography circuity or autocorrelation circuity, but technologies are obsolete. I am a Carver fan, and I have been both pleased and frustrated by the equipment.This is an old vintage stereo equipment. Searched High & Low...Finally, won a bid.
First off, paid waay too much...But, it was worth it. So supply & demand at its best and I was the mark. LOL Seriously though, I've been looking for a Carver "tuner-amp" for several years. It was not a priority item, just wanted to complete my vintage stereo system. I've owned all my pieces since the early 90's and its still going...though, aged is getting the best of it. I do plan on getting it refurbished, piece by piece. But, I was missing a tuner. Didn't really need the pre-amp. But, I am/was flexible. I came across this CT-7 (in awesome shape) and decided I was not going to let this one go without a fight...lucky for me, I won and it surpassed my expectations. I'm NOT going to give a audiophile type review, most seem pretty subjective, in my opinion...just know, I am very ... First off, paid waay too much...But, it was worth it. I have newer and much more costly audio equipment but I listen to my older stuff much more.
Has a good tuner, Nice sound stage, clear and clean sound it is what you would exspect from carver. Are there better sounding preamps of course but at a much higher price. I like the older audio of the 70's and early 80"s . I think they are more musical at least to me, Just the fact that they are 30 to 35 years old and still sound very good shows what the tec"s of that era put in to them.
