    caldwell front rest

    nicely engineered,very stable,easy to assemble,quality built cast iron base..nice height adjustment,especially when used with rear med high rear bag..perfect for what im doing..sighting in,and working on load development,rifle sits nice and tight in the front bag..only thing that kinda bothered me,was it was made in china,so i tore off the tags,lol....

    Great rest

    Better than expected for the price. Just the right size, portable & adjustable height make it great for different shooting situations.     Amazing value and great quality!!

    I was looking for a new set of bags and had recently used a similar rest at a range and thought if this was heavy and built a little bit better it would have been great and then I saw this. Read reviews and decided to buy it. And it's better than expected.

    Best bang for the buck(s)

    Great rest for me! Plenty solid for my 357 Max. I did not need a big heavy expensive rest and this fit the bill perfectly. Elevation adjustment is plenty smooth for me, I guess I could put a drop of lube on it if it ever needed it? Very well made for the money. I am a lefty shooting a Handi-rifle so I turn it around and with the shorter legs towards me it's plenty stable.

    Pros and Cons

    The rest is of good quality and service. But, in my haste I didn't take into account how high the rifle forend would be off the table. I'm 6 ft 4 in. and I like a taller rest anywhere from 9 to 12 inches. This rest only goes up to 8.5 inches. I feel like I'm laying on the table to use it. I believe it would be super for a prone shooter.
