    Great Tool - Maintain your pedals, don't buy new ones

    I was hesitant to rebuild my existing Shimano 105 pedals and almost bought a new set of Ultegra pedals before I came across this tool. The tool works very well and if you take your time and ensure it engages the pedal properly it will not strip. I used this to rebuild my pedal set by disassembling and regreasing them after 4 years of use. The bearings were in good condition so I just cleaned and regreased them. The pedals work as if they were new, spin freely with less energy output, and are ready for many more seasons of use. Definitely beats buying a new pedal set.

    Shimano TL-PD40 SPD Pedal Axel Remover

    I purchased this tool in the event I wound up working and doing maintenance on my Shimano SPD pedal axel. I believe in having a tool even though I don’t need yet so when I do need a tool like this I won’t go around imorovivising in haste and causing more damage to a pedal axel.

    Works as advertised but beware, need a large adjustable wrench to fit the flats and keep a good hold on the top as your turning to prevent rounding off the corners. In a perfect world, you will have a 35mm wrench or socket.

    cheap and handy tool

    great product, can't believe i was messing around with vice grips for years. best to place the tool in your vice then insert and turn the pedal. have done all my pedals now (4 pairs)

    Buy new pedals they said

    LBS told me my SPD pedals were sealed and they couldn't repack them with grease. Told me to buy new pedals. This tool allowed me to disassemble the pedals and regrease them. Now for a few $$ there good as new
