I bought the proper bottom bracket for the Shimano Ultegra cranks I've put on my Fuji after well deserved retirement of the previous FSA Gossamer components; however, the Fuji Gran Fondo takes a press fit BB not the threaded-type I actually purchased. Local Takoma Bike Shop owner and chief mechanic, Bruce, is a true prince and accepted it from me and ordered the Shimano press fit BB. Cranks and installation work great, although the engine is still a little sluggish. Time to brush up on Eddy Merckx' words of advice.

Weight savings
This bb and crank set was almost a pound lighter than the jis tapered ball and cone set up. I have several hours on it and it is silky smooth. Installation was very simple, watch a couple of youtube videos and invest in a torque wrench, the whole process took me about an hour, taking my time. I changed from a 53 - 39 road double to a 50 - 34 compact to save my knees and to give me a little more climbing power. My old Trek is good for another 40 years.

Best Inexpensive bottom bracket on the markety
Cheap, affordable, and overall a great product, it has a nice shiny coat of black on it giving it that real expensive and nice look to it. I love how they have made the cones at the end smaller, reducing weight, and they have added in an adapter that you do not have to buy separate. I was talking to a mechanic and the dura ace bottom bracket is worse, considering it is made to be light and *better* where as it will not last as long because of these features that come along with it, giving the shimano ultegra bottom bracket the upper end. I love how you don't even need spacers. I will definitely be buying again.

Unbox and install
I unboxed and installed a Shimano Ultegra BBR60 to use in my Trek 760 upgrade. I used a plastic adapter that comes with the bottom bracket in conjunction with a Park tool for use with Shimano cups. The threads of the cups were perfectly machined and threaded easily by hand into my frame. I tightened them with the Park tool and it didn’t leave a single mark. That’s the slickest setup I’ve ever seen. The Ultegra 8000 Hollowtech crank fits perfectly and one can discern a very high level of quality and design compatibility. It spins super smoothly! Value is unbeatable.

Smooth as butter
This bottom bracket is easy to install, light and smooth as butter once installed. It is lighter than the previous year and the cups are smaller but without compromising on Shimano's promise of quality performance.
