About this product

Product Information

Wizard Harry Dresden must investigate his own flesh and blood when a series of killings strike Chicago's magic practitioners in this novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series. Someone is targeting the members of the city's supernatural underclass--those who don't possess enough power to become full-fledged wizards. Some have vanished. Others appear to be victims of suicide. But now the culprit has left a calling card at one of the crime scenes--a message for Harry Dresden. Harry sets out to find the apparent serial killer, but his investigation turns up evidence pointing to the one suspect he cannot possibly believe guilty: his half-brother, Thomas. To clear his brother's name, Harry rushes into a supernatural power struggle that renders him outnumbered, outclassed, and dangerously susceptible to temptation. And Harry knows that if he screws this one up, people will die--and one of them will be his brother...

  • White Night = Continued Excellence from Butcher

Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series was a gift in more ways than one. A friend sent me the first book, saying he thought I would enjoy Butcher's concoction of fantastical creatures and realms with cops and horrow thrown in. He was absolutely right, and I've been hooked since the first chapter. "White Night" takes the audience a little deeper into the world of the Wardens, the group Harry joined almost as a last resort at the end of the last book. He's faced with difficult decisions in living up to (and standing up to) the White Council, and if you've read the other books you know Harry doesn't back down. He's also chartered with finding the source of black magic that has been creeping around Chicago and taking the lives of low-level magisters. The usual sidekicks abound, but ...

  • A great magical murder mystery read from a great series.

This is my top pick for a great murder mystery series. This one was an excellent and enjoyable read as all before. It has it's own twist and turns and keeps the series alive. When I really enjoy a book I loan it to my friends and family who love the same. This is loaned out to the second person in my circle and they love it too. It is a can't put it down until the last word is read kind of book. I highly recommend this book.

  • book one and two

Heard from a friend this was a good series. I've read one and two so far and enjoy the humor etc and the suspense in the books. I also can read these aloud to my husband and there's no offensive things in them that I would be embarrassed about reading out loud. I still have 8 more books to read and I'm sure we'll enjoy the rest too.

  • A Great Read

Another great read from Jim Butcher.
