    Many of the recipes require sauteing and other forms of cooking prior to putting them in the slow cooker. Also, the recipes require international ingredients and spices that most supermarkets don't sell and aren't in the everyday kitchen cabinet. Having to drive miles for a spice is not my idea of saving time in the kitchen.
