Includes Scenes Cut Out on Television

One of my favorite movies of all time. This includes scenes in the original movie that I've never seen before. Not to give away any spoilers but it goes into more detail regarding the princess after they rescue her. I always wondered what she felt about Thulsa Doom trying to kill her. This movie shows how she felt about it. Television usually cuts this part out so they can squeeze in more commercials. I am so glad I found this version for sale. This movie has been with me pretty much all of my adult life. Conan's determination and strength through his difficult life has kept me inspired and working out for over 30 years. Every time I got into a tough series of events, I remember the quote in the beginning: "That which does not kill us makes us stronger."

  • A - R - N - O - L - D Brings It!! All Hail CONAN!!

I just spent over five hours with this disk even though I already own the original DVD release. It was worth it. First off, the video is a(much)cleaner and sharper transfer, a marked improvement over the old disk. And the extras are great too. After watching the film the first time I actually sat through whole thing again again while listening to the director's commentary, something I have not done with any other DVD. The extra footage, while only a few minutes, does add something to the ending. I liked it. And Milius' comments about it made me appreciate it even more later. My only complaint might be to wish that the commentary had been extended to the outtakes and deleted scenes. I would have liked to hear more about the deleted King Osric scene and how it was originally ...

  • See the Hyborean Age w/ CONAN THE BARBARIAN bonus DVD!

This movie is definately one of my favorites. Based on the Robert E. Howard stories of his imagined Hyborean Age, this is keynote film in the Sword-and-Sorcery genre. There have been many to imitate, but none to ever duplicate the one and only Conan the Barbarian! An extremely well-done film: the cast, the action, the music, the story - they all make this an absolute MUST SEE! This particular DVD is also loaded w/ outstanding extras! A "making of" and special effects feature all show you how it was done, while a rare commentary by the director and Schwarzenegger himself provide interesting additional info. Even the deleted and extended scenes add some unexpected storyline and character interaction. I'm proud to have this one as part of my personal collection and rewatch ...

  • BETTER THAN THE NEW VERSION IN EVERY WAY...

This hands down makes the 2011 version look like a JOKE, in every which way shape of form possible. Arnold Schwarzenegger for now and forever IS Conan...the action, the origin, and tied together perfectly in the epic action story...even the legendary father and atlantean swords are iconic juggernauts compared to the ones used in the new version. All around it was a good action story about HIGH ADVENTURE for an REAL red blooded male or Conan fan to have in their library.
