The solo project/alter ego of Isaac Brock, mastermind of the widely acclaimed Modest Mouse. "Ugly Casanova" is based on Edgar Graham, a man who approached Modest Mouse at a show, displaying a gentle mental instability that endeared him to the band. He shared some of his songs and writing with the group, who persuaded him to commit to work to tape, then he disappeared. It's hoped Mr. Casanova reappears with the release of this album.

    Ugly Casanova = Beautiful Music

    Ugly Casanova's lead singer Isaac Brock brings the same talent to the table as he does in his other band, Modest Mouse. "Sharpen Your Teeth" is one of the few albums out on the market that can be listened to multiple times without losing any of its initial value. The best songs on the CD are "Things I Don't Remember" and "Cat Faces." If you like Modest Mouse, you will love Ugly Casanova.

    Excellent CD! If you love Modest Mouse, get this one. It's a CD where I find I don't have to skip any songs. The worst Ugly Casanova (or Modest Mouse) song is better than most other artists' best. Seriously. Ear candy.
