Running slicks at the drag strip on my 500hp 99 Civic coupe became a safety hazard. while braking at the end of the the 1/4 mile, the front fenders would rub on the slicks. I then turned to modifying the fender to create for clearance. I first installed these flares, then removed and cut approximately 1.5” off the fenders with an angle grinder. I then bent the sharp edges up away from the tires before reinstalling the flares. So far they look good with the drag wheels and have solved my issue.
