These are some fantastic sounding speakers.
Cut off the 3.5mm headphone jack, install the wires onto an audio amplifier and enjoy the Polk quality :-) I'm not sure how many watts these handle though, and believe these are 6 ohm speakers.

I had these speakers before PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!
These are real Polk Audio speakers. BUT they are the original ones that where shipped with early 2000s HP Pavilion desktops. Those early HPs had a separate AMPLIFIED audio output that was designed for these speakers. Do not buy these if you do not have an amplified audio output because you will be disappointed! When I used these speakers on my old HP PC they sound perfect but use them on a non-amplified audio output device (other PC, Ipod, MP3Player, ect.) you will get very weak sound!!! Hope this helps someone else to avoid these speakers (unless you have an old HP) I found out the hard way. (Another note these speakers look like new old stock (NOS) probably leftovers from that time period.) Best Regards,These are real Polk Audio speakers. little sound
I have always been a fan of Polk Audio speakers but these just don't have any volume to them. I bought them to connect to my iBook but didn't make sure about them having a volume level. They would probably be fine through a power amp but the idea was to have a simple and portable music solution. For a computer a pair of speakers that are plugged in or have USB power is definitely necessary.

you get what you pay for

i needed new speakers - tried these as they were cheap - they didnt work - i needed powered speakers - later i bought a set of dell powered speakers - they work great - you should always look for the right product before buying - but now i have a set of polk speakers to sell on e bay haha
