    Hey, Isaac Sings The Blues

    Isaac Isaac: Greatest Hit Singles - (CD 1991) is a solid introduction to a neglected R&B singer and song writer. Hayes has a powerful bass with a sexy, soulful delivery. His arrangements and phrasing are unique and well with enjoying. Isaac Hayes is an "old school" lover man who wrote many original songs, but this CD does not delve deeply into his discography, but more on his wonderful interpreations. His reworking of "By the Time I Get to Phoniex" is a powerfully moving blues song. Isaac Isaac:Greatest Hit Singles is an excellent, but all too brief, overview of Hayes' materials.
