Arrived safely, even though eBay's Global Shipping Program had it go through 5 different carriers including the worst carrier in Australia at the end, meaning it took ages to get here. Not the sellers fault but would suggest they look into their own international logistics as the eBay GSP is incompetent and vastly overpriced.

    • its great but.....

Installation was easy. Its getting it tweaked out is whats a booger. A normal floyd will stay in tune even with unstretched strings and stay that way. With the light spring on this, it wont. Plus the little bulb screw to return it to zero when in assisted full floating mode wont ever let it return to zero without an extra bump on the vibrato arm. The thumbscrew to block the bridge is way too loose to stay where you need it to be. I finally put it in full float mode and haven't had one tuning issue. Now some loc tite on the thumb screw will fix the issue of it moving too easy as long as you want it blocked. The bulb screw needs to be shaped different to return to zero as the top and bottom of the bulb screw is so round it binds it so it cant return to zero. It does not fit the ...

    • Overall Pretty Impressed!

After reading the reviews I was a little skeptical about purchasing this unit. I watched the video on YouTube twice in order to understand installation procedures better. First, this fits fine on a Studio Les Paul, the curvature and other problems I read about were not apparent on my Gibson in anyway. Following the directions given, when installing the locking nut, the one screw broke with little resistance while screwing it in. Needless to say this caused a huge problem. After modification removing the broken screw I was able to use a left-over screw from another locking system. The guitar stayed in tune very well without the locking tuners in place. If you follow the instructions there should be very little problems except if you get a defective screw like I had received. Gives the Les ...

    • Highly recommended BUT not always "top mountable" as described.

This trem was designed specifically with Gibsons in mind. I have two of these on two Gibsons, an SG and a Les Paul; in each case the action was crazy high and completely unusable without routing into the wood (small channel, but a channel is a channel). That is not always the case; Floyd Rose informed me that the trems will or won't require routing based on the neck angle of the specific instrument(s) you are trying to put it on. Since I didn't mind doing that on those two instruments I might rate the FRX very high *as to functionality* -easily as fun and reliable as my favorite tremolo of all time, the original Ibanez Edge, and would without question give it 5 stars ***HOWEVER*** for the issue of how it is marketed, as a TOP MOUNT system -that at least deserves an asterisk with a footnote ...

    • New expressions/Medium set up.

Depending on your model, be prepared to do some work. There were several obstacles, to going full floating, such as removing the little plate on the side that is for string bends, as it did not clear the body of the trem, which caused binding, thus tuning issues. However upon removal of the plate issues went away, I also removed stop screw as it limited bend back expression. You may also find spring contacts guitar body, check to see how much the height of the FR sets parallel to body surface before removing material on a carved top especially. Once i pushed through set up, Im finding great enjoyment in playing a guitar I previously felt has limited expression playing on, as I'm kind of a Stratocaster guy...

    • It stays in tune

I saw many reviews that said it won’t stay in tune. Nonsense get a good guitar tech to do it. It stays in tune dives deep. Severe bends no problem. You can not get it out of tune very much. It stays in tune as well as the hard tail bridge. I lout this on my 1980 les payl standard.
