Doorbot Wi-Fi "Smart Doorbell" is a big disaster
Poor connectivity; poor - no, abysmal - video quality; Intermittent results. And I'm using a great router without any broadband problems for any other devices. Basically, totally unreliable and not worth the cost of a stick of gum. Actually, a wad of chewed gum stuck on the wall in it's place is on par with this expensive useless thing. The company had so much pompous confidence in it's performance, they sent me a replacement for free. It's unopened in the garage, because I replaced it with a much better choice: A wireless doorbell which uses telephone frequency and wireless router. It has a range of 300 feet ( ! ), with video quality like I'm standing in front of the person. And it works 100% of the time, like your wireless house phones. Until then, buy a wireless doorbell which uses displays a large video on a telephone-like handset that recharges in it's cradle, and you can take around the house with you. Don't wast your money on this.

Doorbot is obsolete so don't waste your money
The Doorbot is obsolete since the maker, Ring, no longer supports it with a workable App. The only Ring App available for either IOS or Android is only for the new improved Ring Doorbell. That means even though you can download the Ring App, the wizard will get you to a place where it tells you to press the orange button on back of the Ring doorbell and of course the old Doorbot does not have an orange button so you are stuck trying to get your router to find the Doorbot. eBay sellers should not be selling these old Doorbots and I have sent each a message, but most just ignore me and say "Oh well buyer beware". I bought two Doorbots of eBay recently, one for a Christmas present and another early Jan 2015 as a birthday present. When I was helping my friend install hers is when I ... I was one of their first customers, having purchased one of the first Doormats from them. It arrives in no time flat. I installed the unit in about 15 mins. I happen to have a Wifi router about 30-40 feet away from the unit so it worked perfectly. The only challenge I ever had with the unit is when my close router dropped off the network and the DoorBot struggled to find the next available router which was a good 50-60 feet away; through the garage door; through an inside garage wall and into my kitchen where I have tons of electronic stuff whizzing around. This is not the DoorBots fault but rather the close router that dropped off. When this happened, the video was choppy from the doormat. I simply fixed the router and the doormat found it again and I was back in business. I was able to ... I was one of their first customers, having purchased one of the first Doormats from them. The one thing that does not work very well is the battery indicator on the IOS software app. It always registers 100% which is wrong. To mitigate this, I simply created a reminder on my phone to charge the unit over night every 25-30 days. Great device!!! I looked at the new Ring but the video of the DoorBot is far superior to the ring which is like looking through a bubble.

Do NOT buy the Doorbot.
The Doorbot is no longer supported by Ring. You are much better off buying a Ring Video Doorbell, which is a much-improved product. The Doorbot was the first attempt by the company at a video doorbell and had a number of issues. That is why the Ring has been redesigned from the ground up. The Ring typically retails for $199.00, so I would only consider the Doorbot at an extreme discount. Even then, if you cannot get it to connect to Ring's network, you are on your own.The Doorbot is no longer supported by Ring.
