About this product

Product Information

The Buck General 120 is considered by some hunters to be the father of knives. Join the ranks of those who delight in holding this sleek and stylish classic that has been proudly made in the U.S.A. This hunting knife features a full tang 420HC stainless steel blade, which measures an eye-catching 7 3/8 inches long. Buck knives undergo a process to keep their bright finish, resist corrosion, ensure easy sharpening, and retain a sharp edge for years of use in a variety of applications. They are also hardened to RC 58 on the Rockwell hardness scale. At 12 inches total, the General can make deep cuts. An aluminum pommel and guard protects fingers during blunt strikes while a balanced design makes it ergonomic. Knives by Buck are made to last a lifetime and beyond with quality you can feel. The 120 model differs slightly from its Cocobola Dymondwood and brass counterpart. It features a tough, black phenolic handle that's soothing in your grip. Despite its incredible durability and strength, the 8.3-ounce knife still feels lightweight enough to carry anywhere.Buck fans often choose this model over multi-tools because it has a versatile, all-purpose blade. This one piece of gear is designed to cut through the many challenges to survival that are found in the outdoors. Its fixed blade means the instrument is ready to work when you are, and the possibilities are endless. Hunters appreciate the crescent-shaped clips, which are used for the detailed work of de-boning after a kill or whittling wood. When sleeping under the stars in the wild, campers find that the Buck 120 is handy for defense against prowling animals. There's no need for shopping around for multiple knives when you have a Buck on hand.An excellent tactical knife, the Buck 120 is convenient as a multi-purpose tool to replace other instruments. The knife can easily cut through fabric or add a notch to leather belts. The thinner blade offers superior performance as it slips into narrow or cramped workspaces. Outdoor adventurers can use the 120 to build shelter, hunt, fish, and survive in the wild. Users will also find its cold steel sharp enough for an extremely close shave. While this knife is most popular among those trekking away from civilization, it finds a way to enter into domestic spaces as well. Many users even store their Buck 120 in the kitchen as their first choice to carve up dinner. You can use the knife to quickly chop your hunting prize into multiple portions whether you're indoors or gathered around a campfire.Always check that the blade is protected by its leather sheath to keep it ultra-sharp, clean, and safe. The case features a sturdy loop to fit any type of belt up to 1 3/16 inches thick. With all their features, it's no wonder Buck knives get a top rating by many hunters and soldiers. Show it off on your next expedition, and your buddies will know that you carry a serious knife.

    Long wanted. Finally purchased.

I have long wanted this knife, just seems there was always another priority. Finally purchased and I am not disappointed. Craftsmanship and quality are just as one would expect from Buck Knives. I have folding knives made by Buck but needed a good hunting knife. This one does not disappoint. It feels good in the hand. Well balanced and superbly constructed. Equal to or better than knives I have seen that are much more expensive. Dollar to value it is a super deal. I look forward to having it with me hunting for hopefully many years. I fully expect it to be used after me by my Son and Grandsons. No doubt from the quality it will last. The good for a lifetime warranty can't be beat. Last but not least the leather sheath accompanying the knife is of equal quality and should last many, ...

  • FULL SIZE HUNTING KNIFE

Specs, 7 3/8" blade, 6 11/16" cutting edge, 4 1/2" handle, 11 7/8" overall. Blade is 1 1/16" wide, 5/32" thick. Knife is 8.40 oz. Handle is smooth fitting and very comfortable. Beautiful black sheath; will fit over a 2 1/2' web belt. My only negative was heavy grind marks on the blade. Should have been polished out, considering the cost, even at a discounted price. Cosmetic, however, and can be fixed. Still a great, made in the U.S.A., knife. Highly recommend.

  • Timeless Classic

There are very good reasons this knife has been in production since 1955. Buck is the best knife company I know of, and I've dealt with all the major ones. Extremely high value with unparalleled service. I own many great blades, including antiques, customs and semi-customs. I'm not aware of anything that beats Buck in performance for the money value. The service and USA production are icing on the cake. This example is the Wal-Mart package that comes with a nylon sheath. The 119 I just bought 12/16 is leather. I got a special edition with red linen micarta handle and BOS S30V. The correct pronunciation of the blade type is boo-y.

  • A competitive value!!

I've owned this Buck knife for many years. It's an excellent value with a competitive price. I wish this knife had a true FULL TANG(where the blade and handle are of the same piece of metal which FULLY extends through the width and total length of the handle). The Buck 124 "Frontiersman" and the Buck "Kalinga" are true full tang knives and both are stronger models. I own several of each model. In a survival scenario a full tang blade is a necessity!! Go Buck!!

  • One great knife!

Does everything I want it to do and than some! Great shape and very sharp! Fits well in the hand. The knife cuts well, stays sharp, has a good long blade but handles well when skinning an animal and cleaning to pack it out.
