Quick connect leaks.
I used the 27 Piece Master Radiator Pressure Test Kit, Part #43301 for the first time to test for a possible leak in the cooling system of my Honda Civic. After installing the radiator cap fitting provided in the kit I attached the quick connect for the pump. As I started to pressurize the system the quick connect immediately started to leak. I continued to pressure the system to a little less than 10 lbs. I stopped and wiggled the quick connect fitting until I no longer heard hissing air. By the time I was able to stop the quick connect from leaking there was only 8 lbs of pressure. I let the system set for 10 minutes after which the the gauge was reading 5 lbs. Due to the quick connect leaking air so easily I was unsure whether the drop in pressure was a leak in the cooling system (a ... Due to the quick connect leaking air so easily I was unsure whether the drop in pressure was a leak in the cooling system (a visual inspection of all cooling system connections found no fluid) or the quick connect was leaking but not audibly. To double check, I re-pressurized the system to 18 lb, after stopping the quick connect from making a hissing noise the gauge read 17 lbs.. This time, after 20 minutes, the pressure was still at 17 lbs. After an hour the pressure was at 16 lbs. The inconsistent pressure loss between my two tests suggests the quick connect is leaking without making a noise. Since there is no noise I cannot position the quick connect in such a way to ensure it does not leak. I DO NOT recommend this product.
