    Succinct in places, lacking in others

    I bought it thinking it would have the same great quality as the "Upgrading and Repairing PCs" series. While it is useful in many areas, I think there are other more useful guides out there, especially if you are looking to tune/tweak the operation of Windows. While Mueller is undisputed as a hardware technical expert, and the chapter on Windows history was very informative, readers should view this first stab at writing a guide on Windows as a work in progress...but I will probably buy the second edition, when it is published.

    Book and DVD in great shape ,great information

    Will be very helpful with problems with windows xp and early OS. Book and DVD were in great shape . DVD had never been opened. It has alot of information on different window topics. I also have Scott Muellers book Upgrading and Repairing PCs. With both books I'll be able to solve most hardware and software problems.
