This box set includes all three KARATE KID movies, directed by John G. Avildsen. THE KARATE KIDWhen New Jersey native Daniel (Ralph Macchio) encounters bullies at his new high school in Southern California, he is saved by Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki "Pat" Morita), a handyman who turns out to be a karate expert. Daniel begs to learn this ancient martial art, and soon Miyagi begins the boy's training, teaching Daniel that there is more to karate than fighting. Morita is a gem as the elderly father figure Miyagi, giving the character warmth, wisdom, and comic charm. 1984's THE KARATE KID inspired an entire generation to run out and join the nearest karate school while chanting "wax on, wax off."THE KARATE KID IIMiyagi and Daniel return to training after a triumphant victory. But when bad news brings Miyagi home to the island of Okinawa, both he and Daniel embark on a journey that will challenge them mentally and physically.     Films that stand the test of time

    This is a great DVD set for those who love The Karate Kid movies. The original film is the best, and the second two are not half bad if you can forgive some mild predicability. These films were well scored, well acted and moving. The only unfortunate thing is that for whatever reason, I couldn't find a collector set that included BOTH the recent remake with Jaden Smith (2010) and the film with Hilary Swank "The Next Karate Kid" (1994). There must be legal or copyright reasons I guess. I'm glad I got the one with the Hilary Swank movie -- great breakout role for her, and Pat Morita is as awesomely sweet and fierce as ever.

    Black Belt to White Belt

    Just as any sequel series the interest wanes with each successive release. This set should have ended after Karate Kid II. The inclusion of the last two chapters in the life of Daniel not only diluted the enjoyment, some magic was lost as Ralph Macchio aged.

    Karate kid

    Although I saw all these movies when they first came out it was so much fun to do them all again and then watch Cobra Kai remembering all the little things that happened in the original movies. Great way to spend a Drury cold weekend watched all four movies

    Karate Kid originals

    It's a classic and must see for everyone. The characters teach a lot of lessons. Daniel is learning much more than just karate from Mr. Miyagi. Daniel is learning life lessons and turning wiser with each movie.
