    In Memor of CF...

    In comparing tribute albums of Celtic Frost / Hellhammer, this one takes second place to 'Celtic Frost Tribute Order of the Tyrants' but not by much. You get some of your more popular Death/Black metal bands in this one, such as Mayhem covering 'Visual Aggression', Emperor and 'Massacra', and Opeth with 'Circle of the Tyrants'. I favor the track list on this compilation because it doesn't get into much of the later CF 'progression' or experimentation. However, some of the bands leave some on the table and fall short of the fame and glory Celtic Frost deserves. The band Grave is the 'low-light' of this disc but it is interesting that Thomas G. Warrior's project band 'Apollyon's Sun' comes in to cover a CF track, 'Babylon Fell', which is performed superbly. As mentioned in another ...

    Great way to learn about other artists.... the tribute.

    I know little or nothing about Celtic Frost, except that if they are as good as the covers of their songs, then I should look for some celtic Frost CD's. Be Warned: For some reason (certain versions of) the CD has combined the last three songs onto one track, which is a bit annoying, especially if you want to record/copy/rip any of those three songs by themselves.
