Increase the Versatility of the EOS R Lens Kit
This is a necessary adaptor if one wants to use an EF lens with the EOS R mirrorless camera. Since I bought only 1 new RF lens with my R and the fine RF lenses are so dang expensive, I have no choice but to use my also-fine legacy lenses. But since I bought only 1 adaptor with my camera purchase, I was stuck with the routine of mounting the adaptor on the lens, then the pair on the R, and when I'd switch, one cannot simply pull the EF lens and put another on. One must pull both, but the adaptor on the second EF lens, then mount it on the camera. That made the whole routine "picture-missingly- SLOW." So I bought 2 of these adaptors, and at least I can now keep one on each of my 3 most regularly used EF lenses. With my favored R 24-105, I now have a versatile and fairly swift (for a clumsy old man) tool kit!

New Life to Old EF Lenses
The Canon EF-EOS R lens adapter is the best adapter for EF lenses to mirrorless systems. OK, maybe that's just hyperbole but, RF has been better than other systems in getting their cameras to make the most out of EF lenses. I've been adapting E-mount and Micro Four Thirds for years and it wasn't til trying them on RF that I've been happy with their performance. Even on a budget RP camera, the performance of EF lenses is on par with my EOS DSLRs, if not better. On the flip side, I also have a 3rd party adapter, and this one has the drop-in ND filters, and I got it for the same price as this one, and its performance is damn near identical, if not so. Does this mean praise should be heaped on the system rather than the adapters? I don't care. This adapter works like a charm and I'm so glad I got one. There are cheaper options out there, but that doesn't affect my satisfaction with this product.

A must for EOS R
Honestly this should just come with the camera. Luckily you can find great bundles with the EOS R or RP that include it to expand your lens options. All lens and camera features work perfectly with this adapter. I’ve also used it with Sigma EF lenses with no problems.

The Canon EF-EOS R Adapter is All You Need
This adapter is a typical Canon product - well designed and made to do the job for which it was intended. Yes, it's needed to connect EF lenses to an EOS R or RF body, but it achieves this so seamlessly that one takes it for granted. If so inclined, one could take the next step up and utilize the control ring adapter instead, but I have used both and do not miss the additional features of the more expensive version. This basic adapter is all one really needs.
