Reviews
Praise for James Ellroy: "One of the great American writers of our time." -- Los Angeles Times "Ask me to name the best living novelist who's fierce, brave, funny, scatological, beautiful, convoluted, and paranoid . . . and it becomes simple: James Ellroy. If insanity illuminated by highly dangerous strokes of literary lightning is your thing, then Ellroy's your man." --Stephen King "James Ellroy is the American Dostoevsky." --Joyce Carol Oates

The ordering process was easy and fast and the price was good. I did not have to wait long for delivery; the book was well packaged and arrived in excellent condition. It was listed on the website as "very good" but it actually looked brand new. All in all, very pleased with the entire experience and will definitely use ebay again.

  • ONCE BRILLIANT AUTHOR now just annoying

Ellroy used to write brilliant books, but as of around a dozen years ago he started going overboard with this SUPER-ANNOYING bee-bop jive talk, which is simply trite, irritating & unreadable. WHITE JAZZ, THE BIG NOWHERE, L.A.CONFIDENTIAL, AMERICAN TABLOID -- masterpieces! Avoid anything more recent than them. I know -- I have read all the recent stuff & the last 5 or 6 are TOTAL DUDS.
