    Colorscapes -- Susan Sargent

    Susan Sargent is my favorite designer. I admire her great use of color and pattern and eagerly awaited the arrival of her third decorating book. I was less impressed with this book. Even though it is recently published, many of the homes and decorating styles seem dated and the color schemes were not entirely consistent with her collections. The decorating advice was very basic and the homes photographed were a bit eccentric. I read the book cover to cover but did not find it inspiring in the way her earlier books, particularly The Comfort of Color, were. The Comfort of Color is a brilliantly written, lush, gorgeous book . . . a much better buy.
