    A New Type of Camera - Light Field Technology

    The Lytro isn't your normal point and shoot. There's a learning curve. Find some YouTube videos and read up on this product. You do not need to focus this camera. After you shoot the pictures you can touch what you want to be in focus. Then change your mind. Or let the viewer make up his or her mind about what they want to focus upon. The camera will hold 350 pictures. It is easy to use. Minimal controls. *TIP* The view angle of the LCD is not good when viewed from above. Simple solution, turn the camera sideways or upside down. The camera will automatically rotate your photos and the viewing angles are better from every angle except up. Only negative? No tripod mount.

    Lytro Light Field Digital Camera 1st Gen

    Image quality is on par with smartphone thou is constraint by square image ratio. 1 mega pixel Sq2 Low Light Quality is very grainy. it is desktop 4 app can do noise reduction. Manual Control is of limited use. Shutter / Iso. Basically it is a PnS camera.

    Love it or leave it, but I love it.

    Neat! I was worried about this one because some of the reviews online are pretty harsh. However I think it is the perfect size for my purse (a larger screen would make it bigger), and the features are pretty neat! Listen, you aren't going to get ansel adams out of this thing, unless you are a pro. If you're a pro go with something else. I think it takes cool photos quickly and with good light everything you could want to be in focus will be. Great point and shoot!

    Fun, different camera!

    If you're interested in photography as a hobby, the Lytro Light Field Camera is a great tool. The image resolution is a little low, so if you have professional needs, this won't be a good fit. But, for taking interesting, different images, it's a lot of fun. If you're not familiar with the Light Field Cameras, they take in a large amount of visual information in one "click," letting you adjust your image's focus *after* you've taken the image. This means you can take a picture, come home, and adjust the focus on your image hours and days later. It's a neat feature that opens up a number of new possibilities. Again, the resolution of this model isn't great. Lytro has a higher end camera for professionals, but if you want to snap a few pictures and adjust them later, this is a great pick.
