Purely delightful entertainment that is even more enjoyable knowing it's based on the real life experiences of the intriguing Durrell family. I fell in love with each and every character~ even the Rose Beetle Man. Sheer delight from beginning to its bittersweet end. Magnificent scenery, excellent dialogue, and superb cast! I love The Durrells in Corfu! You will, too.

Stay Away - Do Not Buy - Its a Looser
Excruciating boring storyline. Very poor audio quality, most dialog is unintelligible. What dialog can be understood is intolerably pedestrian. Low grade, amateurish acting. Incidental music does not support the dialog or scene and is totally inappropriate. What could be stunning Greek scenery is nonexistent. Absolute waste of money. Another PBS looser.

Has the charm of the books.
The books are the Corfu Trilogy by Gerald Durrell, the naturalist, who also wrote several books such as my favorite, The Bafut Beagles. His brother Lawrence is the author of the Alexandria Quartet. It was quite a wild family in a gorgeous place. The video conveys both.

Its hard to rate the value on this video because I didn't like it. The books by Gerald Durrell are much better. The video has to much focus on sex. And the family starts to loose their personalities.
