About this product

Product Information

Year after year Coca-Cola and Camel Cigarettes are at the top of the annual list of the most internationally recognized commercial names. This fact is a testimony to the great care that R.J. Reynolds, the man and the company, has paid to advertising from the very beginning. From the introduction of Camel Cigarettes in 1913 to the incarnation of Joe Camel in 1988, the advertisers have shown a genius for capturing the public's attention and establishing a brand name that is widely recognized, by smokers and non-smokers alike. This new book celebrates the first fifty years of Camel advertising and packaging. Over 450 color photographs capture the rich images used to promote Camel goods. From the handsome men of the teens and early 1920s, through the arrival of the beautiful women in the late-20s, it continues into the war years, and the 1950s and early 1960s as the cigarette industry underwent a revolution in marketing. The images are accompanied by useful captions and an informative text. An estimate of current market values is included to make this a truly useful book for collectors.

Accurate item description and pics. Great packing job with great care and emphasis on ensuring the item arrived undamaged using minimum packing materials and with conscientious use of recycled materials. Super-fast shipment at reasonable rate and arriving ahead of schedule. Great communication before and after transaction. Highly recommended A+ / 5 Star seller! Definitely one of my new favorite sellers and will purchase from again. Can't say enough praise for this seller. Highly Recommended!!!!!

This sellers "two day" shipping policy is baloney - it took a over five days and repeated emails before this item shipped. I almost thought I would have to request a refund from eBay. That being said, when it did ship, it was nicely packaged and arrived undamaged. I would not buy from this person again because they don't honor their own policies! I can only leave positive feedback because 1) the item DID arrive, and 2) it was as described. The rest wasn't a great experience.

I dislike complaining, but I'm unhappy with this transaction. The deck/book set, described as "like new," was mailed in such a flimsy envelope that it arrived twisted out of shape, to the point where one of the cards was stuck to exposed glue inside. I wrote to the seller about the situation but received no response. I didn't ask for a return because the price wasn't high, but even at this price I expect more care in packaging. (I have ordered other items from this seller that arrived intact.)

  • Camel Cigarette Collectibles 1913 - 1963

This softbound book printed on slick paper with pictures are of excellent quality color and composure. This is a book, you might say, is for the advanced Collector of camel cigarette items. The book starts with the inception of Camel cigarettes in 1913 and pictures many of the advertising posters, calendars, packs, and other promotional items used to sell Camel cigarettes by RJ Reynolds tobacco company headquartered in Winston-Salem North Carolina and ends in 1963. Many of the items shown are courtesy of Thomas Gray and Odell Farley that live in Winston-Salem North Carolina. There are many items that will bring back many memories to any collector of tobacco and especially Camel cigarette items. This book would make a fine reference for the collector or seller of Camel items. I decided to ...

  • amazing

This camel book goes a long way back. Mostly you see the 80's Joe Camel stuff. Now if I see any of this very old stuff I will know the value. Seems this older camel merchandise is hard to find.
