Inspiration Comes in All Sizes
The gold cover of this 1984 Michael Jackson biography makes the book look almost as fancy as it is inside! Beginning with the origin of the Jackson 5 in Chapter 1, the book details the journey that Michael and his brothers made as they walked into American Pop history. Wonderful color photographs depict Michael from age 10 singing with the J5 and discusses their first hits starting in 1969. Great concert pics show their colorful outfits and lots of action shots of Michael performing in various venues. Chapter 2 begins the mid-1970s and discusses the Jackson family's move to Encino, California. Photos show even more colorful outfits, appearances with famous comedian Bob Hope and some of their pets. There are fact-filled cutlines under or near every glossy-paged color photo. Growing Pains ... Michael goes solo in Chapter 4 and his albums Off The Wall and Thriller take on lives of their own. Great off-stage fashion pics show off Michael's great sense of style and illustrate his emerging involvement in music video creations such as Billie Jean and Beat It. There's a great two-page spread of the Zombie dance scene from Thriller in this section. By Chapter 5, Michael is dating, talking about his taping of the E.T. Storybook, and receiving multiple awards standing with famous people like Diana Ross and Quincy Jones. His Victory Tour photo near the end of the book is spectacular! The last two pages of copy include "The Michael Jackson File" which is a full page of wonderfully personal tidbits of information all about Michael and his complete Discography from 1969 through 1983. Front and back endcovers are full-color Thriller scenes to remind you of the great moves in the biggest-selling album of all time. This book is a fantastic addition to any Michael Jackson collection. If you only have a few bucks budgeted for MJ memorabilia, this book is well worth the affordable price.
