This hilarious and heart-warming comedy depicts the story of a young black woman trying to learn about her birth father. Featuring the directing talents of Richard Benjamin and the acting talents of Whoopi Goldberg, Ted Danson, Will Smith, and Nia Long, "Made in America" takes viewers on an emotional journey as the African-American protagonist learns that her mother used a sperm donor who, as it turns out, was a white redneck. Learning to identify with both races proves difficult for the characters in "Made in America," but humor and family love help strengthen their bonds. Carrying a PG-13 rating, this comedy does contain some language and sexual situations, which may make it inappropriate for younger audiences. Warner Home Video released the DVD version, with a runtime of 111 minutes. This film combines laughter and tears as the main characters struggle through the uncomfortable experience and try to come out on top. "Made in America" utilizes the comedic timing skills of both Goldberg and Smith, making it a very enjoyable and memorable DVD experience.
