  • A great book but needs the tapes to be useful

This is a great book for learning the language. It was written to be used in a classroom environment where you have access to a native speaker, or where you have the tape set that goes with it. The book is set up with a series of dialogs you might find two or more native speakers engaging in, broken down into a list of words, the dialog itself, an English translation, and finally a literal translation. There are also important cultural entries so that you gain a better understanding of the people that speak this language. I bought the book and eventually tracked down the tape set as I have Shoshone blood and wanted to learn the language. I don't have access to the college where the course is taught.
