Pending serious work ...
My main reason for purchasing this camera was to capture good quality video while using a green screen. I wanted a camera that would supply a strong focus while giving me good color balances. So far I have not been disappointed. I had read there were issues in getting the .MOD format converted for editing in the computer this also has been a moot point as plenty of freeware is out there to handle the conversion smoothly and cleanly. I use Sony Vegas and have no problems with the final files for editing. The finger scan for manually setting the camera is a bit of cludge way of doing things even though it was meant make things easier. I find it annoying and not very accurate for selecting menu options. But the image quality is what I was after and the camera does provide that once I get past ... Fun and easy to use!
I ordered the JVC Everio GZ-MS130AU Camcorder to replace an identical camera that was stolen from me so this is a repeat purchase! So glad to have replaced it. It is so lightweight and compact I carry it with me everywhere. I love that it takes video AND still images. A great feature if you have very active children is the ability to shoot stills at multiple frames per second. Just hold down the button and you can capture many pictures at once, you're almost guaranteed a great shot with everyone smiling. I used it for video and still image recording at an 8 year olds' birthday party with kids running everywhere and was able to capture all those precious moments with great ease and clarity. This camera is so reasonably priced and easy to use it leaves nothing to complain about! I even used ... Can't wait to pair this with the share station I just ordered and send some home movies to my family! The only con (if you can call it that) is that the light on the end of the camera is bright. While that makes for excellent image capture in low-light settings, I have received complaints that that bright white was blinding! The video and pictures turned out great anyway and since I was behind the camera, it didn't bother me at all! It also powers on quickly (Before the party guests even let out the first Happy in the Happy Birthday song - you're ready to begin recording) and it easily switches between video and still recording and playback mode. All in all I rate this a great purchase (obviously, since I went ahead and purchased it again), just toss it in the diaper bag, coat pocket, purse, or camera case and go!

For the Price Great.
The Everio GZ-MS130 as a video camera is a good camera, a photo camera it is not. Every photo comes out non-focused with motion blur lines. I am not to sad as it was purchased as a video camera and not a photo camera, but it would be nice to not have to lug both devices around. Low light tends to bring some graininess, but it is NOT a 0 lux camera so what do you expect. They tried to help this issue by creating a LED that will auto turn on in low light but it is only good for shorts up close. There is no need to install any of the drivers or programs on the CD unless you like those features. Awesome product! Great value for your money!
I bought this camcorder to use at dog show's and for vacation's. I've used it a few time's since I've bought it and I'm very happy with it. It's very easy to use, take's great footage, sound is good. This certainly serves the purpose to what I wanted it for.
