    Won't make your E6400 a MacBook Air but the illumination is handy

    This backlit keyboard was a perfect fit for my E6400, though installing a keyboard in that machine takes a little wiggling and pushing and the arrow keys did not work at first. (I've seen complaints about that problem with E6400 keyboards before.) The solution I devised was to push hard to smooth out the connector, which fits in under the top of the trackpad, after installing the keyboard, as the connector is prone to bending and may be making only partial contact with the socket. All keys are fine now. The backlight is not as elegant as that in Apple laptops -- light shines through the gaps between the keys -- but it's very convenient at night. It works well with Linux Mint, though once again one doesn't have the control over brightness that one has in an Apple laptop. The feel of the ...

    better than non backlit for many reasons

    1st: Keys are more responsive than non-backlit models. These keys push your fingers up as you press and allow much higher typing speed response. It just feels right. No more looking for errors after high WPM entries. 2nd: It's backlit, allowing low light keyfinding very easy and brings this sleek laptop together with modern style. 3rd: Very cheap, effective, easy to install upgrade that you will never regret. A backlit keyboard makes all the difference in typical interface and overall style. Worth every penny.

    Works as expected

    Everything is in order. A little shipping problem, but it was resolved. I wouldn't say this was new, as it had hair and splattered stuff on the keyboard. But I'm fine with it. Maybe the origonal one they sent would have been new? Anyways I am very pleased.

    Good Dell keyboard...

    I can't complain with original. It works great and replaced the original backlit laptop keyboard whose keys were wearing down. I'd buy another in a second. It was also delivered quickly.

    Nice Keyboard

    But it was defective so I used it's keys to make the UK keyboard I had work for my customer and tossed this one.....as didn't have time to waste returning it....
