About this product

Product Information

Bujingai is a sci-fi combat adventure set on a distant-future, post-apocalyptic Earth. In a noble but misdirected attempt to solve 23rd century Earth's energy shortage problems, nearly three quarters of the planet's population was instantly destroyed. (Oops.) In the years that followed, Earth's remaining people developed a new means of manipulating their environment and ensuring their continued survival. Through an ability called simply "Skill," gifted individuals found they could channel the energy of their own bodies to perform amazing feats. It did not take long for the use of Skill to evolve into a new style of martial arts.

Now, four centuries after the disaster that pruned the world's population, a new threat to mankind has emerged. On a remote island city in Asia, a rift has opened in the very fabric of time and space itself. Hordes of grotesque demons and unholy monstrosities have begun to enter our world and claim it as their own. Bujingai players take the role of the hero Lau, a master of Skill powers who is equally deadly with his twin swords. Perhaps Earth's last hope, Lau must travel to the remote island and use his agility, his blades, and his magic-like abilities to turn back the incursion of evil.

    Bunjingai is a hidden gem!

I’ll make this short...Bujingai is a great underrated game for ps2. The graphics are pretty good for a ps2 era game but where this game shines is its buttery smooth gameplay and great combos. Now the enemy types do get repetitive but don’t let that deter you because besides that Bujingai shines and you can get the game pretty cheap for now so get it now while you can.

  • Good Game

Overall this is a good game. The game play is awesome, because of the controls, the combos are easy to perform, this game is very dinamic for an Action-adventure game (Hack and slash) compared to devil may cry, this game is more enyoyable in terms of control and performing combos. In game play I give the game a 10/10. The graphics are very good taking in consideration the time it was released, in comparation to Devil may cry 1 this game has better graphics, and the movie sequences are animated in CG so visualy is good, nevertheless the levels are a little repetitive. In graphics I give a 9.3/10. In music and sound is rather disapointing, being a game wich the main character is based on Gackt and no songs, or melodies compossed by him. The soundtrack is average, you won't find any amazing ...

  • Bujingai

I'm not going to lie. This game is in no way perfect, nor is it groundbreaking. In it's defense there are several things about Bujingai that I'd like to see in future games of the High-flying/Hack 'n Slash genre. For starters, this game is very easy to get into, because anyone can just pick up the controller and press any button to achieve seemingly masterful techniques, and not to mention a very unique and beautiful fighting style. I was most impressed with the automatic countering feature. the rule goes, that as long as you are hit from the front, you will automatically counter several hits, depending on how many petals you have on your "Flower". I've found that counter moves in other games are found at the apex of player control difficulty, and is rarely ever properly utilized.

  • Interesting game

This game caught my eye ever since I saw a trailer for it. Definitely a interesting hack and slash.

  • Grab Bujingai while it is still affordable

Amazing game. Took the PS2 to it's limits in combat and style. This was a game that can be considered a landmark game. The artistry and attention to every detail of the character are not to be missed. Challenging at times, but with a potential to grind and level up. As I got deeper into the game I was quite surprised by the beauty of the landscapes. While the enemies can get repetitive, for 2004 it was groundbreaking, and when you are running up walls, using the scenery to launch your next flurry of attacks it rarely gets boring. One of those many great Japanese games that got overlooked by the big titles of it's time, for me it stands out as a must buy. If you get the chance to add this to your collection take it before it gets expensive.
