I was very surprised how dirty the cabinet was, but I understand that it was an old cabinet, I feel like a better explanation of the condition would have been helpful. I cleaned it as best I could and put liquid beeswax on it, as the wood was extremely dry. This helped immensely. Also, a piece of the fretwork was broken off, presumably during shipping, which was pretty expensive. I've now repaired the fretwork. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase, I was just surprised at the condition.

I'm so glad you are happy with the cabinet. I mentioned I was selling for a friend, and it was from her grandmothers' estate. I didn't want to put an oil, cleaner, or any wax on it because I didn't know if the buyer would paint the cabinet. I should have wiped it down very well. So sorry but in the end I'm so glad that you are happy with it. It's beautiful. Thanks again!
