    Firmware needs updating

    The narrow face of this transceiver lends itself well to mobile service. This rig has the normal high quality that I have come to expect from Yaesu. My complaint is based around the inability of the extended receive frequencies to accept the newer split channels in use today. This could be easily by a firmware update.

    Great 2 meter radio

    Purchased this to hit my local repeaters. Max power says 65 watts. I'm keying almost 80. Easy to program but I do recommend the programming software. It does make it a lot easier than the menu system. I use mine as a base station with a quality 12 volt power supply. Consistently hitting repeaters 50 miles or more away. Well constructed.
