The Who are known as one of the greatest live rock bands of all time, and the concert films presented here do nothing to dispute that claim. One is a memorable performance of their brilliant rock opera TOMMY, taped at a 1989 concert in Los Angeles's Universal Amphitheatre. The story of a deaf, dumb, and blind pinball whiz, this show featured high-caliber guest musicians like Elton John, Billy Idol, Phil Collins, Steve Winwood, and Patti LaBelle. The second film here presents a powerhouse rendition of The Who's second opus, QUADROPHENIA, the saga of a young man coming of age in the disillusioning 1960s. This footage is taken from the first production to faithfully follow Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey's original vision, which formed part of the band's 1996/1997 U.S. tour.

    Really good, post-Keith Who.

    I like the product very much. It contains great examples of the musical&arranging professionality of the band (especially Pete of course). Although the Quadrophenia part contains lots of cut-scenes narrated by some guy who is a bit irritating but it is still a great collection of live performances. Simon Philips on drums and Phil Collins as Uncle Ernie in Tommy are fabulous! I recommend this to anyone who likes The Who and is not only interested in their early, wild years.

    The Who - Tommy / Quadrophenia Live With Special Guests

    This was bought for me as a birthday present after dropping numerous hints! Being an 'aging' WHO fan, this was a perfect way to relive all those glorious memories from the comfort of my zimmerframe!!! Send the family out, lend your neighbours some ear-plugs,turn up the volume (stadium sound style)and enjoy! Awesome - you will not be disappointed. Can't wait for the forthcoming tour - see you in the front row!
