GREAT Buy! But later found it was a P.O.S. defective Combo

A good sound well made board with the CPU, HeatSink & Fan, + RAM, all you need is a Tower case and PSU and you got a nice PC. At least it would have been a good buy if the CPU worked and the product wasn't defective! I installed the board and everything when I finally got the time to, on 4/29/2017 only to find out it would not post, so I replaced CMOS Battery, still no go, then as a last ditch effort I replaced the CPU, Thermal Paste, and proceeded with the install, after replacing CPU & Thermal Paste everything went on without a hitch.

  • Best Socket-775 ATX Board w/DDR2 Support

PROS: Where do I begin? Well for starters this board is a full size ATX mobo so make sure you have a case that fits ATX boards. This is great because it gives you more room to access ports on the inside as well as giving you more space for ventilation between PCIe & PCI slots. Supports PCIe-SLI which is nice for future upgrades as well. GRAPHX: built around an nvidia 750i SLI-based chipset, better than standard intel chipsets and has a 1333 FSB. Chipset comes with its own large heatsink as well which is great to keep the heat down. STORAGE: supports many common RAID configurations, which was a big selling point for me. Board also has an ATA controller for those older IDE drives. 4 SATA ports. OVERCLOCKING: Supports high-end CPU overclocking as well as memory overclocking and full ...

  • Replacement for P5N-e SLI

After my Asus P5n-e SLI crashed, I was looking for a substitute and found the that the P5N-D gave me the necessary SLI technology to support my nVidia graphics cards. Supporting 6 monitors on the nVidia Quadro and two additional on and FX serires, this is an excellent match that gives good service. I do not have matching graphics cards but they still work better than the P5Q. I'm assuming it's because the p5n-D has a nVidia chip set on it. Although it's not a big deal to me, overclocking with a Core Duo Quad processor, however, is not stable. I don't think it's the motherboard as much as the processor as I've read about this complaint on Asus blogs. Overall... its a great motherboard.

  • Great board at a great price.

The board looks great, and runs even better. Installation is a piece of cake. Provided you don't forget the heatsink bracket. (Whoops.) Everything mounts nice. Started up great, double check your power switch hooks up though, very hard to get it right the first time. Things are arranged badly on the board, like audio hooks ups, sata connections, etc. But I recommend the board. Nothing can be engineered purfect. But it functions purfect.

  • confusing install, overall quality product.

This was a great upgrade to the earlier version of my old MB. The old one was basically unavailable @ the time. It did require some goofing around to get the raid to take. I ended up having to replace my GPU and my HD's AND upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit also so the raid situation resolved itself with these key components not conflicting with the Windows installation and Raid config. So far, one month later, this refurbished MB is working great.
