Pro's and Con's
Pioneer DV-420V is a 2009 model. It improved the video performance, close to that with deep color, and added Kuro Link feature. Very good buy for the quality and price. Pro's: Very good video output and easy remote control. Sending out video and Dolby, dts and analog audio simultaneously via HDMI, composite, and component outputs, and digital (coax and optical) and analog outputs. Auto play and auto shut off power. Definitely worth the price. Con's: Front panel display is still in minutes, instead of displaying title/chapter and elapse time in hours and minutes--as the higher level DVD player should use. Audio frequency limit is up to 96 KHz, instead of 192 KHz which is common in recent models of other brands. Output HDMI when playing a VCD doesn't have the 16:9 Compressed (changing 16:9 ... multi region dvd player
didnt know which player to buy. decided to buy this full size dvd player as others i have had have overheated , smaller cheaper ones. this one looks good plays all regions straight away , no code to put in ect , and all my old uk sitcoms play great on it. im really pleased i got this dvd player and it was delivered in just a few days. it will also play in usa and i can take it back to uk and it will play in uk ! payed off to pay $100 got a great player.didnt know which player to buy. decided to buy this full size dvd player as others i have had have overheated , smaller cheaper ones. this one looks good plays all regions straight away , no code to put in ect , and all my old uk sitcoms play great on it. im really pleased i got this dvd player and it was delivered in just a few days. it will also play in usa and i can take it back to uk and it will play in uk ! payed off to pay $100 got a great player.

Plays everything but Blue Ray
Plays all formats DIVX, XVID and more, only complaint is if your still using a older TV the zoom for full screen is sort of funky. Bottom line tons of features and reasonable priced. Update: This is my 3rd one and the other 2 are still working perfectly. If you want a player that holds up and plays just about any type if format you throw at it this is the PUPPY!

The Goodest I've Seen For The $$$$$
I replaced a Panasonic DVR/VHS recorder with the Pioneer DV-420 DVD player and couldn't be happier. After the normal "setting up and learning the operation" process,which I considered very easy and user friendly,I'm extremely happy with my decision to change.I'll worry about the recording aspect at a later time.For the present,I'm perfectly content with the quality of my new Pioneer player.
