The HP iPAQ Pocket PC H4350 is a great way to take a small handheld computer with you. With its built-in WiFi you can connect to the internet through open wireless routers scattered throughout most cities. The price was good at about $175.00 dollars including shipping compared to the $500.00 when new. The PPC includes Microsoft Works software for typing (well tapping) and Excel for spreadsheeting. The one drawback is the PPC cannot be upgraded to Mobile 2003 Second Edition because HP will not provide the upgrade. SE includes the ability to display the screen in landscape mode, which cannot be done under the standard Mobile 2003. Landscape mode can be accomplished through software addons like you would find at iDot. I understand the Mobile 5.0 might not be the best upgrade either due to the ... This is really an A+ pocket pc
I rated it Good because screen size is to small for older people, if I ware my cheaters it works well. This model is easy to operate, e mail weather, stocks, and of course EBay. It has bluetooth and wi lan. I use wireless the most, good screen color and clarity. I an still learning all the features..

Con-Limited in its 128mb ram to operate AND store programs and files. Files locked down cannot be transferred to sd cards in effort to save ram. iTunes for example, until recently would not let you transfer your bought mp3 files to the sd card. Pro-Still considered slim and sexy. Amazing 6 year old tech. 400mhz processor doesn't compare to today's video iPod but it plays video and music files smoothly, wifi and bluetooth capable, tons of software (most free) and hardware available, sd slot for nearly unlimited memory expansion. A cheap alternative to the video iPod or a versatile device with plenty of free games, productivity software, neat widgets, and hotspot access to your email and social sites, this baby will still serve. (make Skype calls, universal remote control, GPS) Some of the new netbooks are being released with just 3X (1.2 ghz) the processor power of this pocket powerhouse, new tablet umpc's get just 2X (800mhz) handhelds just 50% more.(600mhz) In short, it still offers years of service. Don't expect great connectivity to your Vista OS though. Vista really sucks. Use bluetooth to work around Vista. Original battery is good for 4 hours music playback but will peter out in an hour with wifi and/or bluetooth on so get an extended battery to triple your battery time. Things to pay attention to when shopping for one. 1 A dead backup battery means anytime power is lost ie. the main battery is removed and the charger disconnected, the unit dumps everything from it's 128mb memory. So the original programming remains but if you have not stored or backed up your new programs or files to either the sd card or another computer, they're gone. These batteries can only be replaced by taking the device apart so if you are not inclined to miniature repairs... 2 A worn screen is like smoke in your eyes. Use screen protectors available from any office store. If the previous owners did not do this the screen will show wear and nothing can be done about it short of replacing the screen, not to mention the price of the replacement screens and knowing what it is you need to order. (digitizer and LCD cannot be separated) A cracked screen means the unit is completely useless until it is replaced. 3 The battery door, main battery, and stylus are all easily replaceable, but you want to watch the quality on extended batteries and their doors. If you have the battery in place with the back door not completely sealed, the device will not turn on. 4 The speaker is not that important if you prefer using headphones, but it's nice to have functioning and I've found replacing it to be a bit more involved than even screens or backup batteries. The headphone jack is important if you want the device for media purposes. All the buttons (other than keyboard) have dedicated functions which can be reassigned, so also nice but control is available in the start menu or programs menu, even the keyboard has an on screen version. 5 Wifi and bluetooth capabilities. Without 'em you don't get to surf the web or use wireless peripheral hardware like the GPS receiver. InfraRed offers file transfer capability as well as nifty widgets and connectivity to some foldable full size keyboards so make sure yours is 100%. It doesn't offer; on board GPS, camera, accelerometer, fm radio receiver or transmitter. (Most are available as peripheral hardware.) upgradeable anything except software and main battery

Great Functionality, Not So Great Durability
I loved the functionality of my HP iPAQ Pocket PC H4350. The Windows Mobile gave me the programs I needed for work and personal files. I had project plan spreadsheets for work and a spreadsheet for my kitchen remodel home improvement project at the tip of my fingers, no matter where I found myself. One of the things I loved most about my H4350 was the integrated WiFi. Since many airports and hotels now offer free WiFi, it became a great way to stay connected to my email and check the status of my flights while I was on the road. Another major perk of the H4350 was its functionality as an MP3 player. Not only could I play media on the H4350, but with the integrated WiFi, I could download it as well. Among other features that I enjoyed with the H4350 were: large touchscreen, Qwerty ... I loved the functionality of my HP iPAQ Pocket PC H4350. The Windows Mobile gave me the programs I needed for work and personal files. If you are even a little bit rough on your electronics, this might not be the PDA for you. However, if you are not so rough on electronics, this is really a nice PDA.

Very Happy With IPAQ PC 4350
I am very pleased with the IPAQ Pocket PC 4350. Granted, I am a total newbie to the mobile PC world. I did a fair amount of research and decided that I really wanted the keyboard feature. Discovered, it seems, that the keyboard allows more than just keyboarding into documents, but, also, has functions that would require the stylus otherwise. I am really enjoying the drop-down menu feature, with the up/down/right/left navigation button. Friend of mine has the 3715 and he seemed to like mine. The only negative factor between his 3715 and the 4350 is that his has more memory. The machine seems fast to me thus far. I have set it to save to SD card when that is allowable. I never thought I would consider watching video on a small screen, but, after testing it out on a current movie, I was ... I am very pleased with the IPAQ Pocket PC 4350. Also, will use the calendar and task functions to some degree. I am impressed with the bright screen, and it seems much brighter than my friend's 3715 device; his looked dark and dull in comparison. This could be related to age or resolution or other factors that I am not aware of? Concluding, I think that the IPAQ 4350 will do everything I was looking for in a Pocket PC...Internet access, using free hotspots and other WIFIs, a really good calendar, Pocket Word, a picture gallery, so I can have access to pictures, using a SD card, and an audio recorder to record messages for whatever reason. Great investment for not alot of money.
