    Archer T4-UH adapter is Excellent way to breathe life into an old Laptop or Desktop with USB 3.0 ports.

    With this T4-UH adapter and a Express Card 34mm to Dual Port USB 3.0 (BC628) my old 2007 laptop now gets speeds to My ISP of up to 196 Mbps for under $50 in cost. WOW what a difference. No long waits for WEB pages or downloads to occur. Setup of the T4-UH was super easy after loading the drivers from mini CD and the Express Card was as simple. Without a USB 3.0 port you can still get improved performance but you may as well buy the Archer T2-UH Or Netgear A6200 USB adapters. But if you have a USB 3.0 port, (I needed an Express card to upgrade to USB 3.0 port) The T4-UH performs as advertised. It is fast and reliable. Enjoy if you buy and make sure you have a USB 3.0 port to connect it to.

    AC Region Issues

    The adapter enforces the regional domain (frequency limits) through the driver. I could not find any way to influence this, support suggested the installation of a localized operating system, but could not say which factor exactly determines the region choice. Windows' location setting had no effect. This adapter will only work, if your OS and location are a perfect match. You cannot travel with it or use an original language OS'.

    The installation is easy and, if necessary, you can download the latest drivers at tp-link website. The AC 5Ghz communication is excellent for a small house or office, but if there is a large distance, you will get better results connecting at 2.5 Ghz. If you need an AC 5Ghz High Power solution for large distances (or concrete walls or several floors), this is NOT your best choice.

    Really helps

    I travel a lot. Hotel Wi-Fi s vary from great to almost useless, depending on where they assign your room. After plugging in this little jewel in I not only get much better service in my hotel, but, sometimes, even get service from neighboring hotels. It's small size makes it easy to carry in a brief case or slip into your suitcase. I don't travel without it!
