Excellent value - Wonderful Drill
This is a brand new, factory fresh unit which retails for $160 at Home Depot. It includes one 4.0 Ah battery. The battery alone retails for $99 at Home Depot. I needed a hammer drill to fasten railings into a sandstone slab. Needed to drill eight 2" deep x 3/4" holes. Using a new masonry bit and this drill in the "hammer drill" mode, it was almost effortless. While it may seem contradictory the instructions say to use setting #1 for what I did. I tried setting #2 first, but setting #1 did work better. Moral of the story... read the instructions. Also, Also, I did stop after every minute or so and dip the drill into a cup of water to keep it cool. Great Ryobi value
I thought that this was an excellent value. I already have a stable of Ryobi tools but wanted another hi-capacity battery. I didn't have the hammer drill so when I found the drill, battery and charger for $99 I didn't have to think twice, if you look at the prices of this stuff at Home Depot you know that is a great deal. The drill is the new brushless technology which is a bonus.

Always been a fan of Ryobi after my brother and his supervisor tried destroying one with several battery packs one after another trust me the drill was not designed to mix concrete it never died just the 5 or 6 battery packs they had fully charged they discharged drill was smoking still worked still works to this day that's why when I buy stuff I look for the name RYOBI

My original 3 speed Ryobi hammer drill died but had a long hard life. This one has more power for sure. Pity it's not 3 speed but very happy with its overall power and performance so far
