        My Dinner With Andre

        This is film I saw at the theater when it first came out decades ago, and it's stuck with me ever since. I was glad to see that there was a Criterion release available, and it did not disappoint. It's an hour and forty minutes of two guys having a philosophical conversation in a restaurant, and yet it's often riveting. Two thumbs way up.

        Two real life actors portray themselves in this engaging autobiographical encounter.

        This is a fascinating recreation of a real-life encounter between two men who worked with each other in professional theater but have not conversed in years. They portray themselves in the film so it is autobiographical in nature. The story is completely character driven with no special effects. This is a thoroughly engaging film for viewers who like deep, meaningful dialogue sprinkled with humor.
