        Solid Improvements...

        Coming from a Pioneer DEH-X5500 (a 2012 model - similarly shaped) to this unit (a 2014 model w/Bluetooth), I can tell Pioneer really made some quality improvements over the older model. Gone are the flimsily felling buttons - power buttons, etc. all now have a solid "push" to them. The menus animations are faster which was really frustrating on the older model with the slow animations - especially when you needed to change something in traffic. Also, the RDS is not retarded anymore, it will actually load up broadcast info without the "NO TEXT" message. And although this unit still doesn't have the wire to automatically control the light dimmer, the dimmer feature seems to dim more then the older model which was pretty bright at night.         Just what I needed

        These faceplates are VERY fragile and often short out. This is a known issue on this unit as well as many Pioneer head units. Had I known that I would have never gotten it in the first place. This replacement faceplate saved me a lot of hassle! It snapped right in and with a few positioning adjustments the display lit up again just like new.
