    With an original release date in 2002, "Gauntlet: Dark Legacy" offers twice as many characters as the original "Gauntlet." Returning fighters like the Wizard, Archer, and Valkyrie are joined by new faces like the Knight, Dwarf, and Jester. Each class features a unique set of powers that aid players in their quest during gameplay. For example, the Warrior is a fierce combatant who prefers to get up close and personal with his opponents. The Wizard prefers to hang back and sling spells from a distance. With nine characters to choose from, you are guaranteed to find a character that matches the way you play.Like other Midway Gauntlet video games, the premise of "Gauntlet: Dark Legacy" is straightforward: In each level, you'll need to eliminate everything in your path and head for the goal. The game takes you through traps and enemy battalions produced by generators scattered throughout the environment in each level. Armed with special powers, explosive magic vials, multiple projectile attacks, and other tools, one must defeat swarms of enemies.You can play this title either alone or with friends. The co-op mode in the Xbox version of "Dark Legacy" supports up to four players on one Xbox. Players can combine their attacks to create powerful combinations that will eliminate everything in their way.With over 60 levels to complete, "Gauntlet: Dark Legacy" offers many hours of play. These levels span a variety of environments. You'll travel to deserts, mountains, and arctic environments on your quest. In each environment, you'll face new foes, so the game always feels fresh. The title has a save feature, so you can come back to the game and continue playing from the same spot. The title also features a number of hidden levels for gamers to find. At the end of some levels is a boss fight. These fights will put your skills to the test."Gauntlet: Dark Legacy" for the Xbox features an array of improvements over other versions. The Xbox version of the title features an improved inventory system, making it easier to select items. It also features exclusive power-ups, including health amulets and items that will destroy all enemies on the screen. "Dark Legacy" for the Xbox also features better graphics than other versions.This title has a rating of T for Teen due to its subtle uses of alcohol and violence. However, the game features little bloodshed and no cursing or nudity.

        Excellent! Old school at it's best

        I have had this game 3 times in my life! I always go back to it for one of my great memories of my childhood. It's an awesome first person rpg. It's easy AND challenging at the same time. You won't be bored. It combines first person campaigns followed by each levels final challeng with an major enemy to move ahead. For fans of original Xbox games I give it 5 Stars out of 5. Go ahead, you know you want to try it.....
