Lovely picture!
This is a great DVD release for this film, especially for people who don't want to buy the previously released box set to obtain just this title. It skips the menu and goes right to the film, which I really like because it saves time going through all the menu options. The picture is almost HD in quality and the sound is very rich, apart from segments where there is music in the background and it becomes slightly loud, going back to a quieter volume when there is just talking without a musical score. This is a gem of a film that we are fortunate to have and this, I feel, is the definitive DVD of it. May even be up for an ultimate edition someday with a making-of and such. This is a great DVD release for this film, especially for people who don't want to buy the previously released box set to obtain just this title. This movie is a pre 'Film Noir' Classic. Just for the lighting, sets Makeup and styling this is a gem. It was shot in an operatic style, even though there is only one song, so expect to have BIG gestures and bravado in every scene. The story I see loosely based on 'Carmen' the Opera, so enjoy 👍🏼❤❤❤
