Turns out I didn't need this piece, toilet was running water because the floating ball (that shuts the water-flow off) needed to be adjusted downward (bend metal bar) into the tank to shut off the water flow sooner. But, this piece is new and I changed it thinking it was the original problem-- anyway, the toilet works like new. If your drop-stopper (piece with the rubber seal) is old and/or warped, this will do the repair. It will only take a few minutes to swap out.
