    Good Value and Performer

    The Wen is highly-rated among several sources and lives up to that billing. It is not a lightweight and appears sturdy and well-built. Shoe adjustment is easy and marked in increments. The dial also serves as a front hand-hold which some reviewers found easy to move while planing, but I had no issues. The double-discharge chute is handy allowing either right or left use. The plane performed well, handled easily and does the job of more expensive models. It should include a storage bag. Durability is yet to be determined, but, after limited use, I give it 4.5 stars.

    Wen 4&3/8” electric hand planer

    I bought this to make a small jointer. It has four embedded nuts to install the eve guide, which made installing the planer square to my fence easy. It works nicely, has a fairly large footprint, and I made no adjustments out of the box. Worth every penny!

    What a great, time-saving tool!!

    I can't believe I lived so long without one of these! I've never had much success with manual (non-electric) hand planes, and sanding rough barn oak with a belt sander is so time consuming and tiring. This Wen planer works so fast! Adjusts easily from zero to 1/4" and even set to a shallow depth like 1/64th", it makes smoothing rough boards very easy. I have a garage full of rough sawn barn oak that I can finally use for projects! Highly recommended!

    heavy duty basic unit for experienced worker

    Good design, good fit and finish and works well with sharp blades for an 8 amp power head. Can be used with a long 15 amp extension cord without tripping breaker.

    Excellent value

    This electric hand planer is about the best bargain in a 4-3/8 planer out there. The sliding release stand-off works well, gets out of the way when you start planing. The shavings ports will get jammed if you do not use a vaccum but that is expected.
