Fantastic deal on this terrific release. Item arrived in better than described condition, and in a timely way. The price was right for the CD, and shipping costs were nominal, at best. Feel like I won the lottery. Check out this store for great deals on rare finds.

  • A surprising comeback after nearly 20 years...

"New Roman Times," a sort of rock opera by Camper Van Beethoven, is much better than I expected. It does not suffer from any of the blandness or distracting attempts to adopt a more modern sound that you so often get when a once-great band reforms many years later to create new material. It genuinely deserves to be considered alongside some of the band's best 1980s output such as "Key Lime Pie" and "Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart." If anything, it might have benefitted from some editing since at times it feels as if it incorporates one or two instrumental tracks too many, and to me the audio collage "I Hate this Part of Texas" does not seem worthy of some of the other highly memorable tunes. In all, a definite keeper.
