    Great film!

    I love this movie! The scenery is beautiful, the setting and props are realistic to the time period, and there is a good message to the story that comes through as the film unfolds. Plus, who doesn’t love Sam Elliott?! Definitely a good buy.

    The Ranger, the Cook and a Hole in the Sky

    I bought this DVD for my Husband.....We live in the area this movie was portrayed in....and the ranger is somewhat of a legend here.....I love Sam Elliot.....and he did a good job in the role....however the storyline....left alot to be desired.....my husband and I were both dissapointed...Jerry O'connell did a good acting job.....but they made the movie into somthing it shouldn't have been....the story should have focused on the ranger....but instead focused on money, and a card game......that wasn't what the legend was about......I'm glad we only spent a few dollars on this movie.....but I wish we would have rented it first......not worth my time to watch...:(

    Excellent Story

    I recommend this movie for yourself and also showing your teen agers what life was like at their age, but before the electronic age happened. I rented this movie and then purchased it to watch again. Any faults are minor in this story of a boy coming of age in the company of older hard working men. And there's a girl in part of it too, so your daughter's interest is covered. For me it is special because my son worked at this ranger station two summers in 2007, 08 when he was 18 and 19. A position I'd have just about killed for.
