It will forever remain a mystery why the mighty original Van Halen line-up never released a live recording, especially because they were one of the better live hard rock bands to hit the stage. The first official live Van Halen recording was the 1993 two-CD set, LIVE: RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, which collected 24 tracks from various tours with singer Sammy Hagar (spanning 1986-92). David Lee Roth-era songs are kept to a bare minimum, and almost the entire FOR UNLAWFUL CARNAL KNOWLEDGE featured. Such later-Van Halen favorites as "Poundcake", "Why Can't This Be Love", "Right Now", "When It's Love", and "Best of Both Worlds" are featured. Also included is a cover of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again", Hagar's solo composition "One Way to Rock", and the Roth-standards "Panama", "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love", "You Really Got Me", and "Jump".

    Awesome Van Halen!

    Great CD. What can I say about Van Halen? Their music make me happy, even when I'm stuck in So Cal freeway gridlocked traffic. I'm a midlife empty-nester and listening to Van Halen still energizes me like it did 30 years ago!

    **A great example of the live Van Halen experience**

    I purchased this album when it was originally released in the early 90's around the time i was also into Nirvana, Alice in Chains and the whole Seattle scene. I was always a fan of Van Halen whether it was Roth or Haggar. The quality of this recording is just awesome and a lot of fun to listen to (as any Van Halen record would be)and another example of an elite live performing group. Very clear and clean. The musicianship is sharp as a tack. I think they were at their musical peak with Sammy around this time. 2 discs and a ton of hits from 2 shows from Fresno, CA with great crowds too. Hits include "Right Now", "Dreams", "Poundcake", "When it's love", "Panama", "Jump", "You Really got me" and of course all the solos including the iconic "Eruption", "Mean Streets","Spanish Fly", "Cathedral" ...

    Van Halen Lives -

    To me, it doesn't really matter. I like the original Van Halen with and without David Lee Roth. I also like the Sammy version called Van Hagar - but the fact is the group rocks !     This is an awesome cd. Must have. Van Halen ROCKS!!!!!!

    I bought this cd. for my son. he is the biggest van halen fan ever. He has every cd they ever made. He collects them now some to listen to, and some just to hold on to. I would recomend for anyone to buy their records. Very easy to listen to. I love the guitar in it. very nice.
