    Folks who don't like Fruit Cake are weird

    I spent my early holidays with big families on both sides. Lots of aunts and uncles, and they all cooked. Fruitcake and eggnog and Smithfield ham biscuits were present at everyone's groaning board. For me, these treats signify Christmas and family get-togethers. There were more brands producing fruitcake back then. Even Hostess put out a delicious version. Most people served brandied hard sauce on the side, to be spread on top of the liquor-soaked cake. A great holiday tradition. One of the best brands still making old-fashioned fruitcake is Claxton. It is definitely my favorite. I was shocked by the prices online for basic cake. I ordered this two-pound Claxton on Black Friday. Best price I came across. Ironically, a local merchant put out Claxton cakes at an even better price. I am ...

    All the tradition people remember

    It's wonderful to take this fruitcake, which is largely composed of candied fruits, with some of the other fruitcakes that have relatively little fruit. I love them both! Ordering is fast and easy, and arrives in great form!

    Now exactly the 2 lb fruitcake

    Turns out this was s multi pack of 4 mini fruitcakes that are s 1/2 lb each. Adds up to the same but doesn’t allow me to serve a large slice to a guest. It’s just not the same and was a disappointment.
